ABOUT OUR SPEAKER:
Growing up on Lake St. Clair in Michigan, Denise has been boating since she was 12. Starting out on small runabouts and the family cabin cruiser, she quickly knew this was the life for her. Her first job was in a marina at the age of 14, and her first business was at 16, when she decided to start a small wash-down service in the local marinas in and around Gross Point, Michigan. The small wash-down service quickly grew, as did her experience and passion for boating.
In the early '80s, Denise took one look at Marina del Rey, California and she was hooked. Soon to follow was a successful full-service yacht management company, and learning to sail. Sailing took over, and Denise sold the business to go on an adventure. Her adventures led her to the Caribbean, where she made her living doing charters and deliveries.
Denise is an active sailboat racer, both locally and internationally, as well as the producer and builder of a 24’ club racer called a Martin 242. Most recently, she has taken up fishing in the local waters off Southern California. Today, she is a leader in the boating community of Marina del Rey and is enjoying every bit of her career as a yacht salesperson.
“Helping people find and live their boating dreams is where I am most happy,” she says.
